Facebook Add New Downvote Button For Taking Down Annoying News & Comments

Facebook is currently working on a new development “DownVote button” which is designed to help users get rid of hate comments and false news which is very rampant nowadays on social media.
It's worth noting that this feature shouldn't be mistaken for dislike that a lot of people have been longing for, neither is it in anyway related to Reddit' upvotes and downvotes.

The new Facebook downvote button may be found and accessed where the like or comment button is.

You can hide a comment once you tap on the downvote button, and you'll further be be provided with additional reporting options like "Misleading", "Offensive", and "Off Topic".

This feature becomes handy in helping Facebook to take down fake news or out of point comments.

The downvote button, according to Facebook, currently appears only on public Page posts, not on individual posts nor the one from Groups.
The company also stated that the downvote feature will affect about 5% of Android users whose default language in the app is set to English.
